Prompt templates

Manage reusable system prompts in Prompt Templates and load any of them into an AI agent with one click.

A prompt template is a saved, reusable system prompt that tells an AI agent its role, what it can help with, and how to respond. When creating an AI agent, you can load a template directly instead of writing instructions from scratch.

Loading a template is a one-time copy
Loading a template copies its text into the agent's System Prompt field — it does not link the agent to the template. Editing or deleting a template later has no effect on agents that have already loaded it.

Fields in the template list

Each row is one template. The list shows:

ColumnWhat it shows
NameThe template's name, the label you pick it by
DescriptionA one-line note, or a dash if left blank
UpdatedWhen the template was last edited

Creating a template

Fields required to create a template:

  • Name (required) — a short, recognizable label, up to 80 characters. Names must be unique within your organization.
  • Description (optional) — a one-line note describing what the template is for, up to 200 characters. This note also appears when picking a template inside an AI agent, so a clear description makes the right one easy to spot.
  • Content(required) — the system prompt itself, up to 10,000 characters. Write the full instructions here: the agent's role, tone, what it should and should not do, and any business rules it must follow.
Write content like instructions, not a chat
Content is read by the AI agent as its standing instructions. Be explicit: state the role ("You are a professional e-commerce support agent…"), the boundaries, and the facts it may rely on. Clear, specific prompts produce more consistent replies.

Editing a template

Edit any field and save. Changes only affect the next time someone loads the template — AI agents that already loaded an earlier version keep their own saved prompt unchanged. The same name-uniqueness and length limits apply as when creating.

Deleting a template

Deleting a template does not affect AI agents that already loaded it — they each keep their own copy of the prompt. Deletion is permanent; if you might reuse the template, edit it instead.

How an AI agent uses a template

When creating or editing an AI agent, the System Prompt field has a Load from template control above it. Click it to open a dropdown of your saved templates, each showing its name and description. Pick one and its content replaces whatever is in the System Prompt field. You can then refine the text further before saving the agent. Loading is a one-time copy — no ongoing link is created between the agent and the template.
